The flowers of German chamomile contain from 0.24-2.0% volatile oil which is obtained by distillation and is blue in color. The two main components, -α-hisabolol and chamazulene, are contained in 50-65% of the total volatile oil.
Blue German Chamomile essential oil is the first choice against nervous tension, anxiety, depression, insomnia and migraine. It has anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, anti-allergic and antiseptic effects while helping in cases of arthritis, cystitis and rheumatic pains.
